Keegie Berger
Keegie Berger is a Resident in Counseling with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a concentration in Play Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Keegie has experience working with children and teens, supporting them through a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. She has extensive experience working with children and families navigating separation and divorce and understands the unique challenges these transitions bring.

Keegie’s approach to counseling is grounded in Child-Centered Play Therapy, which is based on the belief that children have an innate capacity for growth and healing when provided with a safe, accepting environment. In practice, this means she follows the child’s lead in play while offering empathy and reflection to help them process feelings, build self-esteem, and develop healthier coping strategies. Depending on each child’s needs, Keegie also integrates expressive arts, mindfulness, and other creative techniques to support self-expression and emotional regulation. She is also trained in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), a parent-training model that strengthens the bond between caregivers and their children through structured play.

Keegie hopes to create a space where children feel understood and empowered, and where parents feel supported in their relationship with their child.
